Exchange- hiding distribution list SMTP address

How do you hide the SMTP address of a distribution list in exchange. The problem is that we have a few that we would like to use at some point but we dont want every tom dick and harry looking at the list's property's in outlook (internally) and using it as a good spam address. It it possible to do this in exchange or do I have to remove it's SMTP address all together?
