Hi,

I installed the ATI driver for my video card. After I have restarted, this message was displayed:

"A new graphic driver has been installed.

The default display resolution from the driver has been temporarily used by the system.

Please use the Display option in the Windows NT Control Panel to select your preferred display resolution."

I can't change the option...I kept on coming back to VGA compatible display adapter.

From Event Viewer:

"A conflict has been detected between two drivers which claimed two overlapping Io port regions. Driver VgaSave, with device <\Device\Video0.Translated>, claimed an IO port range with starting address in data address 0x28 and 0x2c, and length in data address 0x30."

I tried to edit the configuration of devices:
stop the VgaSave but this error appears "Error2191: The requested pause or stop is not valid for this service"

OR start ati but this error appears "Error 0031: The device attached to the system is not functioning"

Please advice on what to do.

Thank you very much.

Old problem and old solution.

Reapply your service pac. You should be on 6a. Once you reapply the sp and reboot your video will work correctly.

Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.
