I have a Windows NT 4 workstation Build 1381 running Service Pack 6.

Yesterday, I installed a Maddog sound card and drivers and it was working just fine. I even successfully warm-rebooted the machine and everything worked just fine. Today, however, I went to cold-boot the machine, and after the Windows NT identification screen appears, I then get the following error message followed by a core dump:

*** STOP: 0x0000001E (0xC0000005,0x0018B346,0x00000001,0x0079006C) KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED*** Address 0018b346 has base at 00100000 - ntoskrnl.exe

CPUID:GenuineIntel 6.5.2 irql:0 SYSVER 0xf0000565

then the core-dump follows from ntoskrnl.exe...

Then the following message appears...
Restart and set the recovery options in the system control panel or the /CRASHDEBUG system start option. If this message reappears, contact your system administrator or technical support group.

Well, I am my own tech support group and admin. Also, I have no clue as to how to access the system control panel when the system doesn't boot up, nor how to set the /crashdebug start option.

Can anyone please offer some suggestions? Thanks!! -Val
