Close everything in your systray (lower right corner by your clock) also. Programs minimized in your systray will not show up on the Task Manager Applications tab.

real.com issued a statement saying this error will occur when you are trying to install onto win2000 or NT and not logged in as an admin. You must be able to log in as an administrator to install.. maybe an older version of realplayer will work, it has for me in the past
That is real nice of them since the installer deleted the existing version of Real Player before trying to install the new one. Most apps tell you up front that you need to be administrator. Back to Windoze Media Player for me.

I got this system error after I uninstalled the real player. I don't want anything to do w/ real player anymore. Is there any way to get rid of this system error without installing real player 7?

I've received no error messages from Real Player, but I have found asctrm.sys to be an "unsigned driver" according to Microsoft. I'm running WindowsXP. I'm also having major sound-related (maybe) problems. I've been encouraged by Microsoft to eliminate unsigned drivers. I was trying to find out what this particular driver was for. I gather it's part of RealPlayer? I have RealPlayerOne installed. System crashes after playing any audio, either locally or over the internet.
