I know that this error has been discussed before, but I could not seem to find a working solution to this problem. My computer froze when I tried to install a new modem and ever since then, I have not been able to get in and configure my Dial-up Networking options. When I double-click on the icon for DUN I get the message: ERROR 711: RasMan initialization failure. Please help me, my boss is riding my tail trying to get me to get this modem set up. I have tried reinstalling the latest service pack, as well as stopping and restarting my Plug ad Play. I can't seem to figure it out. Any ideas will help, thanks, Casey

Try removing the Remote Access service and re-boot the computer. Now add the service back. Don't let it re-copy files from winnt/system32 as they might be corrupt, but use a winnt cd to add the service.
