Error 7023 in WinNT Server

I keep getting this error message in the system log:

The Event Log Watch service terminated with the following error:
The directory name is invalid.

I can't find any info specific to the text in the message as the error code is just a general one for Service Control Manager errors.

I started seeing the same message after applying the microsoft patches. I just selected the manual startup option, this service is not necessary to run.
