We're running an NT4 domain with Win95 clients. We have a simple logon script set up to run on the PDC. The issue is this: it does in fact run, but only intermittently. A given client may have the script execute once or twice and then not the third time; or it may run every other time. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it other than the fact that the script won't run each and every time the client logs into the domain. Has anyone run across this? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Are you running a Backup Domain Controller?
if so, you may want to run Replication between your PDC and BDC.

Try putting a 3 second time delay in your Script.

Hi there,

My name is joe chin, from Singapore. I really don't know how to write a script, that's why i'm desperately looking for any solutions out there. And, is my final Assignment actually.
Do you think you can help me about the scripts? Co'z i'm really "scripting Idiot"

Maybe let me tell you what i want, so you might can gimme some logic or idea to write the script.

I had a server named ASPQUOTAFPSG, inside contained a folder called VIRUSUPDATE
and in it are contained those MCAfee update files which is Delta.ini, Update.ini sdatxxxx.zip and 41494150.upd files.

Now i want these four files download automatically every 3hours from ftp.nai.com/pub/antivirus/datfiles/4.x and dump it into my computer d:\ . Is kind of tough huh? Do you think this is works?

ThankYou so much in Advance

We were having the same problem at work. I started checking every property of everything involved in the logon in any way. I finally found that on my PDC in the permissions for the logon script only administrators and the operating system had permissions to do ANYTHING to it. I allowed the everyone group to read the file and think it is now fixed. Both BDCs were set to allow the everyone group to read the file, so I assume that is why the script was running 1/3 of the time.
