You can't to the best of knowledge duel boot win95&98 as they are basically the same O/S on the other hand you can due boot 98or95 with NT. Double check but I believe Nt goes first as it can find win9x but if you install win9x first it can't find NT both partations need to be fat16

dunno about NT4, but with 2k all u have to do is install 95/98 (whichever) first, and then 2k. this should be done on a clean HDD obviously (read: a nice reformat'll do :)
once everything is nice and clean, it'll ask u which OS u'd like to goto at bootup. A note: make sure you dont use NTFS partitions for 2k if u want to be able to use 2k files in win9x. I REALLY MEAN THIS! :)

Randy, power quest puts out a program for duel booting, called boot magic,it helps with the booting process.

i to am a novice at linux and duel boot systems, i installed linux partition with swap partition, but i can't install bootmagic because of the size of my HD, linux and the swap are still on my hd, but i can't access them without bootmagic, how can i access linux and still get back to win98(vice/versa)? Help would be appreciated.

Duel boot with 98 and Linux is probably one of the easiest things to do compared to duel booting other operating systems. Partition Magic is a great util. I comend you on using it. However, an easy setup is to just take a clean hard drive and bootup a linux install cd (I suggest 6.x). Then use fdisk and set up all of your partitions. If your not sure about what partitions to make....I would suggest hda1=fat>16; hda2= lin. native (/); hda3=lin. nat. (/boot [w/ 50-100mb]); hda4= lin. swap. {or something to the like given you have one HDD to work with. If not, /boot has to be on hdax and not hdbx (/boot has to be on first PHYSICAL drive) Install win9x first, then Linux and choose place LiLO in Master Boot Record. This will allow a choice during boot up when you get a black screen with:
"lilo..."
type "dos" (for windows by default but you can change the name during linux install).
or just hit enter for Linux.
I make a 100mb partition for "/boot" so that if the partition table gets messed, you can still get into Linux by using a boot disk. Hope this helps

Does anyone know if i can make a duel boot and not have to erase my previous data? I want to take an image of another computer and load that onto my computer so that i can see if a problem that the other computer is haveing is a software or hardware problem (for my work). So i will be doing a duel boot with the same operating system (win95) for each boot, but so that they'd run independently. Is this possible?

thanks,
alex

My friend has win2k on his comp right now and he want to play alot of the old 16-bit games but they wont run on win2k. So he wants both win2k and win98 NOT WinME!! So how would I make a partition for win2k and win98, and the most important part How do I make a duel boot? Can you name any programs and how I would install them and use them. THanks
