I just installed win 2k pro edition on my 1200 amd , 256 ram machine. It worked ok for a while then when i tried booting up again it would not detect any of my ide drives. Sometimes it detects my cd-r drive. But not the cd-rom or hdd- so i keep geting an error message saying it cant boot.
Is it a dodgy ide cable or do i just start to cry. Me being a student its vital its saved quickly else resits here i come. Would appreciate it if anyone can help

Unplug all of the unnecessary hardware eg; cd-r, cd rom, floppy, and see if it boots. Your screen should show how far it gets through the BIOS as it boots so post with what shows up.
