Drives do not give the option to share..

when i right click a drive i do not get the sharing option. when i go to properties the only tabs are "general", "tools" and "security". any ideas on how i can get the share option back?

Try this: Control panel->Network->Services Check that the service 'server' is there if not, add it in and reboot. This should enable sharing.

Hmmm, maybe your default admin share got blown away somehow.. Double check this.. If you have admin rights... Go into Regedit Hkey_Local_Machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\lanmanserver\parameters
Find the value AutoShareServer Double Click it and make sure value is equal to 1 If it is 0 it means it is disabled.. Hope that helps
