Domain Name change in NT SVR 4.0

Can any one tell me if I change the domain name in NT server 4.0, will it erase the users which were defined before?. what will be th after effects?

The SAM [user database] stays the same. Wins/dns/host files/client machines will all have to be updated to point to the new domain.
