Comment:

I am running an NT4 server with SP6a.
All client machines access the internet through an isdn router attached to the network. All works fine for a couple of days then there is no access to the net.

There is an error generated on the server that reads:

The application, exe\dns.dbg, generated an application error The error occurred on 5/16/2002 @ 10:10:59.560 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 014acffd ()
Event ID 4097

and the DNS service has stopped running

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Possible CAUSE:
This occurs when a self-extracting hotfix has been applied to the server prior to running Srvinfo.exe.
