When booting an NT Computer, boot fails with the following message:
OS Loader V4.01
...Disk I/O error: Status = 00001000
.Disk I/O error: Status = 00001000
Press spacebar NOW to invoke Hardware Profile/Last Known Good menu
Windows NT could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMYou can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows NT
Setup using the original Setup floppy disk or CD-ROM
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repairI found a hit is searching the web, but when connecting to the link, it is in another language.
Please advise

Do exactly what the message from NT is telling you to do. Run the Repair (r) routine via set-up (probably best from the 3 floppies)... If you have the ERD for the 'current' installation use it when prompted for it; if not then allow NT to attempt a 'Repair' without it.
Probably you'll end up doing an 'Upgrade' to the current installation; and will re-apply your current Service Pack afterwards.
What happened initially to give this error message?

When booting an NT 4.0 workstation, i get the disk i/o error:status 0000001. i tried to repair the drive but it does no good.
Can anyone help me in this matter?
Thanks in advance,
Bye,
Kumar
