u may want to try "Start" --> "Run" type "msconfig" then go to the startup tab.

..and uncheck what u dont like.

...also im not really positive if this works on NT. =\ but im pretty sure that it does. If not, lemme kno or email me and i'll show you how to edit the registry.

Moin Mona,
run a search for 'autostart' by rightclicking the My computer Icon and selecting search from the context menue. There will be found directories with the name autostart. Open each of them and either delete the entries or save them to another directory (folder), depending if you might want to keep it for later use. Then check the programs run automatically during system startup and then hanging around in the systemtray (the area in the right side of the start bar where all those little icons are shown), they should have a menue item like 'properties' or 'settings', many of them provide a choice to be autostarted with the system or not, you can switch it off, the menues will be reached by either rightclicking or doubleclicking the icons. Alternatively you could use a free tool like jv16powertools (www.jv16.org), which provides a function to view and change the autostart settings. I would NOT recommend making changes to the registry by using the registry editor, if you don't know exactly what you are doing. The programm msconfig doesn't exist in WinNT.
I hope it helps.
MfG, Carl.
