I have a Teac CD-W58E DVD burner that I purchased from Dell.
I used Roxio DVD builder to create a DVD with this CD/DVD burner.
The DVD plays on my computer. However, the DVD does not play on a non-computer DVD player.
I tried the DVD on about 6 different non-computer DVD players. It did not play on any of them.
I was told that because I made the DVD with a burner that uses ‘+R’ DVD’s, my DVD’s will not play on non-computer DVD players. They went on to tell me that I need to make DVD’s that use ‘-R’ blanks.
I am really confused as I purchased the best DVD burner that Dell offered. [This DVD Burner specifies ‘+R’ DVD blanks]
Is the ‘-R/+R’ blank information accurate? (I just purchased the DVD burner about 4 months ago.) Is there an adjustment (or a work-around) that will enable me to use my equipment to burn DVD’s that play on non-computer DVD players?
Thanks for your help.

Yes the +R and -R is accurate. Some players and recorders use one or the other. Some will use both. The DVD must be the format the player will recognize (- or +). Check out your recorder and player media compatibility. No workaround to this other than to buy more stuff.
