The PC is not seeing the DHCP server. i) Check to see if you have link lights. Note:- If you moved it from a different segment then release and renew the IP address. (ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew) ii) Run the Nic Diagnostic Program, if there is one (3COM & Intel do). iii) Ping the DHCP Server. iv) Assign a Static Address. v) Remove the NIC drivers and replace with the latest version.
well, i did move the sys to new segment and release/renew. I still get that msg in event viewer. I was wondering what would cause the problem. I know dhcp works and i was able to renew ip. what could cause the sephamore timeout? thanx again

On the PCs that get this error, leave the Domain (join a Work grouop) and reboot. Delete the computer accounts from Domain and Synchronize the Entire Domain. Then join the Domain again with an Account that can create computer accounts on the Domain, reboot. Wha-la
