Comment: I have a network of 8 win2k and 3 nt4 boxes. All updates are applied. I switched from static IP's to DHCP with the installation of a new router that does DHCP serving. Everything runs well, except there are error messages in the nt4 logs that read: DHCP received an unknown option 023 of length 001. The raw option data is given below. The ipconfig's look good, all connections work...this has me puzzled.

Reply: (edit)If everything works well - why worry? And further to the last comment, you never need to apply service packS - just the last one.

Reply: (edit)I reapplied sp6a, plus all updates after that, same thing. Someone else (Nimbus, I believe) had a similar problem where his XP box was set to MasterBrowser and by disbling this in the registry he was able to make the NT boxes not have this message any longer. Although I have no XP's on this network, I do have a NT Server set to MasterBrowser. I do plan on taking it offline this weekend and rebooting my NT boxes and see what happens. I will posts my results here for record purposes.
