My NT4 workstation has decided to change the desktop's shortcut icons. They used by have a black arrow in a white background. Now the background of the arrow has changed to red and white. When I reboot, they correct themselves. Anybody else have this happen, or know what I could try?

Do you have lots of icons on the desktop? I seem to remember that with certain video cards with limited memory that if you run the desktop in high-res max colours and then place loads of icons on the desktop that it can cause probs. One thing you can try is to download TweakUi from Microsoft's website, it has a repair tab that can be used to rebuild the iconcache.
