I am having a problem with the appearance of my desktop icons. The icons appear to have to "local disk" symbol, (the gray computer image) layered on top of the normal desktop icon. This problem only occurs with icons that do not have to do with my computer, such as aol instant messenger, etc. (The icons "my computer" and "my documents," etc. are unnaffected.) I have the Windows ME version.

I have a similar problem on two workstations running NT4. One has the Palm HotSync icon layered on top of others; the other has the large blue IE "e".

It ocurred from the next login after I had installed OpenOffice.org1.0

Does anyone know how to fix it?
