I have a page file of size 1076MB allocated on my c: drive. My NT installation is also on C: drive. Now I want to change this pagefile size to zero and allocate it on my D: drive. when I try to do this using controlpanel --> system I get following error message. " If the pagefile on volume C: has an initial size of less than 1024 MB, then the system is unable to create a debugging info file if a STOP error occurs. This feature will be disabled now" what shall I do? will the abscence of debugging info affect in anyway? Another doubt is " Can I delete the pagefile.sys on C: drive " without going through Control panel ---> system route. Kindly help Thanks to all of u in advance

Basically what it is telling you is that if you make the page file less than the physical amount of memory you have on your system then it will not be able to write a dump file if you pc ever blue screens. This file can be used to troubleshoot why your pc blue screens. Some people can live without this feature.
The only way i know to remove the pagefile off the c drive is to set it to 0 in the utility you are using.

You should ONLY change the pagefile thru the pagefile option. Ignore the message and set the pagefile on c: to 0 and create the pagefile on d: but start with 500mb not 1024meg. You have plenty of ram and the rule of thumb [ram x 1.5] really doesn't apply unless your running apps want more and then the system will tell you. Set min and max to the same to avoid pagefile fragmentation.

Summary: yes, it could be a defrag problem. if your drive is heavily fragmented you should run diskkeeper and clean it up. this will give you more space, although I doubt it will give you close to a gig of s...
