Comment:

I have a Win 2000 system and a Win NT 4.0 workstation. NT of course doesn't have the defrag feature, I was wodering what files from Win 2000 can I copy over NT that will let me defrag NT. Eventually Diskeeper will be installed on NT, but for now we desperatly need it. Upgrading NT is not an option. Can it be done?
Thanks

beware,NT has NTFS 4,2000 has NTFS 5,i'm not sure you can copy this utility from 2000 to NT.

use with extreme care if it's on a pc with valuable data.
(backup,backup,backup)

Cheers.

Don't even think of doing that. Look on the net for software called Diskeeper Lite. That is made to defrag Win NT 4. The defrag in 2k is based on that software.
