Creating shortcuts from a batch file

I am seing letters where a person is trying to create place a shortcut to the desktop using a batch file. I am attepting to do the same thing. This is the last step in a batch process that I have created. Could anyone please assist me on how to place a shortcut on 100 computers using NT?
