"Could not load DHCP"

Comment:
I work with a company that uses a Netfinity 3500 server w/NT 4.0 installed. When they boot up the system, an error message appears telling them that DHCP did not load. What do we do to fix this problem. They also are experiencing a problem with one of their workstations not automatically assigning an IP address to it.

Is the server running DHCP, if so take it off immediately all servers should have static ips. on the workstation side, remove tcp/ip reinstall it and assign a static ip address that has been excluded on your dhcp settings. If that works and you want to be adventuresome, switch the settings back to obtain and see what happens. Most of the time that clears up the problem. Make sure that you have dhcp set up where you can track who gets what ip address.
