Comment:

I would like to know if anyone has
recovered a NTFS BOOT SECTOR.

I think i have a Corrupt NTFS Boot Sector because i get the follwing error:

Microsoft (R) Windows NT (TM) Version 4.0 Build 1381: Service Pack 5) 1 System Processor [64MM Memory]

AUTOCHK PROGRAM NOT FOUND -SKIPPING
AUTOCHECK

STOP: C000021A (FATAL SYSTEM ERROR)
THE SESSION MANAGER INITIALIZATION SYSTEM PROCESS TERMINATED UNEXPECTEDLY WITH STATUS OF 0XC000003A (0X00000000 0X00000000)

After some digging around on the internet I
found an article on microsoft's knowledge
base center that explains how to do this. But I don't know for sure that is the problem with my computer. And i don't want lose data
on the hard drive.

I appreciate any help.
Thank you,

eloy

install nt in a different directory and get you data. Afterwards fdisk & reformat or leave it the way it is.

Thank you for your help.

I cannot boot up directly to WINNT,
because it is installed in a second hard
drive.

My bootable OS is win95 (FAT). This is where BOOTLOADER is installed.

When I re-installed another copy of WINNT V4.0. It istalled in this hard drive (primary). Therefore, it cannot view the
other hard drive where WINNT is installed.

I used Disk Administrator to view the other
partitions and it shows up as "UNKOWN"

Any suggestion?

First off try a repair. Then,SLOW DOWN IN THE INSTALL. When you installed NT for the second time it should've asked you if you wanted to do an upgrade or a new install (If it saw the old install)If it does see it and asks you to do an upgrade then by all means do that instead. If not then install it in the same old directory you won't get your software back but the data should be retrieveable.
