Subject: convert Mac file names into legal Windows file names
|
Comment: Hello. Can anybody help me with this little annoying problem. I have 50 macs set up with 6 nt 4.0 severs. The problem is when a mac user saves a document with a forward slash it converts to a black box on the nt machine which can not be removed from the file name (i tried renaming the file but it didnt work) Is there a way to convert Mac file names into legal Windows file names? Some sort of filter or macro? thank you ed

Reply: (edit)Not that I am aware of. The best way is to educate your Mac users to not use Windows reserved characters in their file names. This includes ending the file name full a fullstop. Hope this helps Ross
