Isnt better, from an optimum functionality standpoint, to have all the same platform. I'm tryn to move towards all NT boxes, instead of having a hodge podge NT, W95, W95, W3.1 ????? We're already using NT SERVER

Some advantages of having NT everywhere might be extra security, common OS (thereby easily supported, greater stability.
Some disadvantages of having NT everywhere might be the extra bootup time it takes ( my users couldn't stand it - they preferred 95), it's inability to support certain legacy software, limited PnP functionality.
There are of course lots of other ad's and disad's but there's a few. If you aren't sure, write a list. On the list mark good points and bad points of having one OS (probably NT) in your enterprise. Try to be objective and award each statement a set of points. The one with the most points wins and hopefully may help you see things clearer.

the good thing about going all nt is that you have a common ground for all your updates, Users might not like the longer boot times but they will enjoy a better platform with less mem leaks. Personally If you were thinking of going all nt in a hodgepodge right now I would wait for win2000 to come out with its 1st service pack and change everything at that point. your so close to that now it would probably be a waste of time to make any network wide changes now
