Hi ! My clients workstations are running win2000, my files server is running winNT 4.0 SP6, and I also have an Internet Server (Unix??)from which my clients connect to the internet. I have no problems with my clients, but I don't know how to configure my NT server. I've try a couple of things, but it did'nt works. (By the way, I'm using IExplorer)
Can someone help me please ??
Thanks :)
Julie

In order to help you , you should provide more information about the "internet server". Which OS, is it a router, firewall, proxy etc.
Check the clients config for differences to your server. Network config: gateway ???Anyway, a server should not be necessarily connected to the web. For security reasons, no good idea.

I have to connect to the internet on my nt server, because the installation of Norton Antivirus for networks requires to download installations files from the internet. (I really don't understand why). On my workstations, the internet configuration is very simple, I only have to put my internet server address in the gateway box in TCP/IP properties. But I don't know where to add a gateway on my NT server. (well, I found something were I tought I was suppose to do it, but it did'nt change anything....)
Thank you very much for your help ! I did a lot of searchs today on this subject but did'nt find anything (or maybe I did'nt search for the wright thing )
Thanks again...

The download of update files should work through your Proxy server if it is configured correctly. What Proxy server are you using. Can you connect to the Internet through the NT server and download files. Are you using a Firewall if so are the correct ports open for the NT server if not connecting through the Proxy.
Probably the easiest way to check Norton itself is to Give the NT server full access to the Internet without going through the Proxy, this will tell you if it is a Proxy problem. If this works check your proxy settngs.
Mike
