Configuring LPT1

New system with NT and trying to utilize the parallel port for null modem cable connection. The port doesn't show as available. Have never set up a printer on the port so don't know if what to do to simply enable it. In Devices I see Parallel and Paraport > started> automatic. It does not show up in Resources with assigned Irq. How do I configure it without setting up a printer and loading those drivers?

Check that lpt1 is enabled in your CMOS settings... then things should work for U...
