Configuring aol6.0 to work on a proxy server using windows NT

I just downloaded the software to enable me to gain internet access through aol and was surprised to see that there was no version available for download with NT. AOL tech support told me the windows 95/98 version would work but when I try to install the software I get an error message saying the version is incompatible with my operating system. Could anyone tell me if they have managed to get aol to connect their workstations to the internet via a proxy server using windows NT as an OS. Thanks.
