codecs for Windows Media Player

Subject: codecs for Windows Media Player
OS: XP Pro
CPU/Ram: Pentium4/1GB
Comment:
I used PhotoJam 4 Deluxe to create VideoCDs.

I have a Dell Pentium 4 with 1 MB RAM and XP Pro with Service Pack 2.

I recently downloaded Media Player 10.

I am (now) not able to view my VideoCD's (created with PhotoJam 4 Deluxe) using Media Player 10.

I received the following message: 'Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found'.

The VideoCD's (that I created) play just fine on DVD Players attached to televisions. However, the VideoCD's (that I created) do not play on my computer.

I have downloaded codecs from both the DivX and Microsoft sites. (I hope I downloaded the correct codecs) After that I re-booted my computer. I still cannot view PhotoJam VideoCD's on my computer.

Where do I find the codecs to allow me to use Windows Media Player 10 to view the PhotoJams that I create on my computer.

Thanks for your help.

MarvR

That message can also occur even if you
have the right codecs, but you have a
codec conflict ..try disabling some in your
multimedia settings/devices/video
compression codecs.... (i'm not sure
where it would be exactly on XP).
For example, I had this problem myself
with the AC3 codecs, i couldn't view dvd
until i removed them entirely...
