Chkdsk & Defrag after W2K Dual boot???

Has anyone come accross an answer to this problem. If you install W2K pro onto a computer that already has NT4 SP4 or higher on it and convert the W2k to NTFS5 it also changes all NT4 Partitions to a hybred NTFS4/NTFS5 file system. If you then delete the W2K partition there is no way to either Chkdsk or Use any defrager I have been able to find (Diskeeper5 or 6, Norton Speed disk5, etc). Has anyone been able to get around this short of either reinstalling W2K or reformatting. Thanks for your attention.

Systems internals (www.sysinternals.com) has a program called chkntfs for checking NTFS5 partitions from NT4.Would have been nice if Microsoft gave you a choice of upgrading or not, though! Also, sysinternals free defragger Contig.exe doesn't seem to care what sort of file system it defrags, and runs from the command line.Grab it and have a go.Good luck
