Need to find a way to change BIOS settings remotely to allow boot up from Floppy.

Reason:

Would like to repair nt after bsod, however, currently w/s' setup to boot from HDD first. Too many w/s' to change manually. {i.e. over 40,000}. May not b able to do this due to security reasons {enabling FDD would allow users potential access to install sw} but thought I would ask :)

Sorry Paul, not a snowball's chance in Hell.

I know of some BIOS editers out there on the web. And you may be able to run them via something like VNC, ie:remotely. BUT, to do 40,000 systems? How many different BIOSs do you think you'd have? Better the deskside visit to investigate and repair than to attempt what you're suggesting.

I agree, some sort of tech person is going to have to do the ERD in person anyway. Remember, the ERD doesn't really repair anything, it just gets the system working enough to recover files or do a restore from backup.

ahh well thanks for info. already have tech ppl go out to repair bsod, problem is it's costing a lot of money with such a large user base. all w/s are on the same build, but there are 4/5 different types of w/s in use. Never mind, worth a try, cheers :)
