Hello,

I have Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 5. Since purchasing the computer from Explorer Micro (don't make the same mistake) I have had a Zip drive. It has worked despite having a driver which gives an error message at bootup.

I have just installed a Memorex CD-RW 2X2X24 and it reads but does not write. After installing new firmware, and software, the problem remains unresolved. The people at Memorex blamed my problem on the Zip drive which caused the error message at boot up.

The exact error messages are:
#1
A conflict has been detected between two drivers which claimed two overlapping Io port regions. Driver atapi, with device <\Device\ScsiPort2.Translated>, claimed an IO port range with starting address in data address 0x28 and 0x2c, and length in data address 0x30.

I have tried installing the newest driver from Iomega but that didn't work.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lars

Under SCSI controllers, what IDE driver are you using?

Try installing the Zip drive on IDE1 as a slave to the hard drive. Using the Zip drive as a slave to IDE2 can cause errors.

Good luck.

First install Iomegaware 2.0 from Iomega website.
www.iomega.com
then instal CDRWin3.8A-e This installs his own drivers witch are problem free.
