Hello ppl!

I'm trying to fix someone's old Dell (P2) laptop. I created a new partition, formatted the computer and installed DOS, which boots up fine. I installed Samsung-drivers. I have a swappable cd-rom drive attached to the parralel port, which somehow doesn't get recognised by the system.

The computer boots up the cd-drobe and gives the following errors:

Device Name: SSCD000 - No drives found, aborting installation
(...)
Device Name: SSCD001 - No drives found, aborting installation

And:

C:\>c:\samsung\mscdex\.exe /D: SSCD001 /D: SSCD000 /M: 10
Device driver not found: 'SSCD001'.
Device driver not found: 'SSCD000'.

Should I just throw the cd-drive out of the window, or does anyone else have a solution?
