How can you know in WinNT 4.0 if PCI (or ISA) card is correctly installed. The only place that I know of is Device in Control Panel.
What is the best way to know which IRQ a card takes...
The one I know is Start --> Programs --> Administrative Tools --> Windows NT Diagnostics --> Resources....are those the actual physical IRQ assigned to the PCI and ISA card or virtual ?
What are virtual IRQ and where can find if there are some on my computer.
I've changed the IRQ of my capture card in the BIOS to 10 but in the ressources tab of NT Diagnostics, it still tells me that its IRQ 16, 32 and 48...and the manufacturer speficaly wrote that it has to be installed on IRQ 9, 10 or 11 and NO virtual IRQ. any advice ?
any answers for these questions can help
thank you in advance

From what I know about NT, you cannot control the IRQ selection using the BIOS settings. NT was written in such a way that the HAL controls the selection of hardware IRQs. This feature makes NT far more stable then WIN9x. But you also lost most of the Plug & Play support of the motherboard BIOS. It would be best to focus on the IRQ settings within NT
