Comment:

We had a server that administers DOMAIN1, and can logon to DOMAIN2. The IT department has renamed DOMAIN2 to NEWDOMAIN.

Since this change, the server has been unable to logon to the NEWDOMAIN. There is only ever two domain options in the logon screen (DOMAIN1 & DOMAIN2). I can still logon to DOMAIN1, and when I try to change the Network Identification info to NEWDOMAIN, it says the domain could not log me on.

Do I need to have the IT department add this computer to the NEWDOMAIN on the DC?

How do I go about changing the domain list in the drop-down menu on the logon screen? Specifically, how can I change the old DOMAIN2 to NEWDOMAIN without being able to logon to the old DOMAIN2, since it doesn't exist anymore?

If I change the domain in Network Identification to NEWDOMAIN, while logged on under DOMAIN1, will the drop-down menu still show the DOMAIN1, or only the NEWDOMAIN?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
