I am currently using windows 98 on my computer, and I'm giving it to one of my friends. However after I formatted my drive and restarted the machine, my old contents were still there. I have tried fdisk, and format C: but it still won't work. Can anyone help me?

Let me get this straight - you fdisked ALL the partitions, then FORMATTED the drive AND THE DATA IS STILL THERE?!?! HUH?
When you delete a partition with fdisk, everything on that partition is DELETED as well (hence the deletion confirmation prompt). Also, formatting will destroy all data on a HD. There is no way any data can survive both fdisking and formatting!
I think that you either missed some partitions and/or since you only formatted C:, some data might have been missed!
