Hi, I'm having a problem with trying to run programs that I download and the computer is giving me the same message that program.exe is not found.

I had that problem after i removed Alta Vista's "Discovery" , It seems it chewed up the registry a bit and I had to re-associate programs to their respective files.

place a file named program.exe on the root
that file will be started upon startup
If you discover a real solution please mail me!

You loaded something that is launching from the run keys in the registry. Open regedit and do a search for runonce. You will find several instances, but the run keys will finally appear over the actual runonce keys. Locate the key that starts program.exe and right-click on it and delete it. Reboot. No more program.exe

I had lost program.exe. I removed several programs using uninstall and it warned me about shared resouces. I ignored the warning and said remove them. I think program.exe was one. It took re-installing (recover cd) to fix. now is ok!

My NT Workstation 4.0 was infected with the W32/Pretty.Worm trojan virus & i had to clean it manually as the McAfee for NT was unable to do so ( ver 4.0.4065 ). The Network Associates has a "how to clean" page at vil.mcafee.com/vil/vpe10175.asp, followed each instruction step by step & now i have this message box which appears every time i try to run a program / application:
Program Not Found
Windows cannot find .exe.
The Program is needed for opening files of type 'Application'.
Location of .exe:
C:\It asks for the location of the .exe. I guess it has something to do with the registry. I tried to undo the changes in the registry but it doesn't seem to work, only solution that I or should I say all Microsoft users can think of....REINSTALL!!!! Or does someone have a solution for this..????

Found the solution, downloaded the prettypark virus cleaner from getvirushelp.com, the cleaner found a file named FILES32.VXD which is apparently created by the virus. Seems to be running fine now...

this is what it tells me when i try to open a pic
program.exe. cannot be found
this is need to open graphics server 1.o
please tell me how to fix
