Can't delete folder on NTFS partition

Comment:
I have a folder on a NTFS partition that is wacked. I can't modify it in any way. I can't delete/rename/move. It is causing trouble with Backup Exec. I want to delete the darn thing, but I get an error message: "Invalid File Handle". Does anyone have a clue on how to kill this corrupted folder- besides buying NTFSDOS Pro?

Hmm,
In DOS-Box you cannot del the Folder, too ??
May be you have another Installation of NT, so you can boot out of the other NT and del the Folder on your NTFS-Partition.
Or have you access to that Partition over Network ?

Yes, I did try to modify/delete/rename/move the folder from DOS. I also accessed the partition from the network, but it was no use. I am thinking about ROBOCOPYing all the data to another drive. Wiping the disk. And coping the data back over to the drive; That would take care of that folder because it can't be moved. It wouldn't be ROBOCOPYed with the rest of the data because it can't be accessed, plus the permissions would go away. This is a little extreme, but I don't have any other ideas.

This is a follow up-
I did ROBOCOPY all the data from the drive. Then I moved the drive to another machine. Next I did a full reformat and moved the drive back to its home machine. Finally I moved the data back to the refreshined drive. Success!..but a pain is the ass. -Steve

The probleme is that the folder you want to delete your are not the owner for that reasan you need to have an administrator previlage and take the ownership for that folder to do that you need to right click on the folder click on proprieties/security onthe buttom you can see ownership click on it and take the ownership afetr that you can do what ever you want with this file. i hope that i have response to your request
