how can i install an LAN card on windows NT 4?
there is not device adding feature, so i went to browse my network, and it asked me for an LAN card, but i do not know what file is needed, there are several .INF files in the floppy disk, i do not know wich one choose.
Windows NT is asking me for an OEMSETUP.INF,( there's that file in the floppy disk), but when i put the adress it says that "Cannot find OEMSETUP.INF .what do i do?

Killer,
Very common problem. When it asks you for the .inf file, you have to type in the location for your floppy drive and any subfolder it might be in. ie,a:\setup\drivers
or
a:\

Which NIC u have purchased? it shudnt be hard anyway to install a NIC.Insert the NIC into the PCI slot and then Go to My computer-properties-device_manager- there u'll see some kinda questions marked hardware listed, u'll see that something written Network Adapter. Right click on that and locate the software of the NIC. DONE !!!!

Hello, I am also having difficulty getting my NIC working with my NT 4.0 Server installation. I have a 3com Fast EtherLink XL 10/100Mb TX (3C905B-TX) inside a HP Vectra VL 6. I have tried installing every driver version 3Com has listed for the card- (even the Japanese version!) but still cannot get the thing to work. I know the NIC is properly seated and functioning as I have a Win2000 Pro OS installed on the same computer and it works fine in that OS. I've installed NetBEUI, NWLink,TCP/IP protocols (connect to some old windows OS) which seem to be functioning with loopback tests. IPconfig reveals no configuration-tried both DHCP and manual assigning and 3com's card detection utility claims I have no 3Com cards installed. This leads me to believe that perhaps the drivers are assigning resources that conflicting with something else? If so, how do I see what resources the card has been assigned? (I am new to the Nt4 OS) If not...what am I missing?
Any help is appreciated, thank you.
Dan
