I have three machines - NT Server, NT Workstation & WIN 98.
The Server browses fine, and the WIN 98 client can be seen by Server in the 'CANTERBURY' domain (and vice versa).
But, when I try to convert the Workstation from a workgroup to the "CANTERBURY' domain, an error message appears 'cannot connect to the domain controller' (which is my Server).
When using Network Neighbourhood, I cannot browse these computers, but using a UNC path (e.g. \\ntserver\shared_folder) I can connect fine to shared folders.
I have correctly configured TCP/IP properties, (IP and subnet addresses) for each machine as follows:
Server 10.1.1.1 Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Wkstn 10.1.1.2 255.255.255.0
WIN 98 10.1.1.3 255.255.255.0Any help would be much appreciated.

95% of the time when you cannot see the domain controller, it is a WINS issue. Make sure you have primary wins settings set up correctly.
Also, your subnet mask IS correct. Your network is 10.1.1.0 and your host is x.x.x.1-3
Okay, go to your NT server.
Go to server manager and go to Add computer to domain. Type in \\workstationmachinenameThis will add your NT workstation.
Go back to your NT workstation and try to connect to that domain again. Make sure the primary wins address is 10.1.1.1 and you have WINS services running on your NT server. (you'll need to reboot if you add those services)
This will register the computer name of the server and you should be able to find your domain controller thereafter...
