Busy/Free Error on exiting Outlook 98/MS exch 5.5

Occasionally when exiting from my Outlook98 client running on NT Workstion 4.0/SP5 a get the following message:
"can't write busy/free data"

Can anyone shed some light on this error? What does it mean? What to do to fix it?
