Comment:
BSOD "KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" with the reference to "ntoskrnl.exe" coming up on many PCs, all same configuration. NTWS4.0 sp6 on Compaq EN350 PIIs with 128m ram. It is very random on most, except occasionally one will BSOD all day then just stop. ?? Phantoms?
I have run into similar probs as Pig. COMCrap P-II 400's - 128MB. Upgraded (fresh-formatted installs)7 systems NT 4 sp6 and 2 of them BSOD after I upgraded the browser to IE 6 sp1. I couldn't get either one to come back up so I tried a Repair with the system files. That got it to boot but now all the software is screwed. Is there a better way then to "repair"?
I have found a ton of useless conversation about the particular BSOD I am experiencing on the net, but non (of the useless conversation) points to any registry areas that can be checked or accomplishes more than a vague mimic of 'microshaft.com' website. On one machine I deleted all the print drivers and reloaded....not because the error pointed there, but because I could. The BSOD on that particular machine did go away. It is my conclusions at this time that the BSOD 'CAN/IS' frequently something that happens for a reason, and for no reason, and for a cause, and without a cause, and because of an event, or because of a non-event! It is therefore it is.
