Here is the Deal. I have 2 subnets. My PDC is here at the office. I can see all workgroups and computers on my local subnet. Although, on the remote subnet I can not browse through Network Neighborhood! I can find them through "Find Computers" and I cand ping them by name. WINS server has been installed on the PDC on the local subnet. I want to be able to view all coputers and workgroups by Network Neighborhood at either location. HELP!!!! I appreciate all suggestions on this issue.

Thanks,

Make sure that the WINS server address has been provided to the computers on the invisable subnet either in the network settings of each or thru DHCP. Also, if the other subnet is across a router keep in mind that Netbios in not routable and you need to use a WINS proxy agent on the router or replicate WINS to the other subnet through push/pull partners on each subnet.

Browsing across subnets is a pain for us as well. I have found that just because it is in WINS does not mean that it will show up in Network Neighborhood.

I would try using some of the Browser utilities in the NT 4.0 resource kit. Find your master browser and make sure that it is set up properly

Try Browman and Browstat to see if you can track the problem to the master browser

tcpip is working but netbios isn't or isn't able to because it can't locate a browse list.
try using lmhost to give the location of the bdc/pdc to the w98s .
ensure that they have a workgroup name of the domain name.
