hi. I am running NT on my computer and it has crashed. When I start it up I get an inaccessible_boot_device error. I think my harddrive is gone, making creaking noises, but want to be sure. I used a boot disk and cannot access the c drive or the cd-rom drive..."invalid drive specification."

Is there a way to check if a harddrive is busted? Do I try to run the NT setup cd? How do I do that if the computer is not booting the cd-rom drive?

thanks

When you where trying your boot disk what probably happend is that it did not opened the cr-rom because it dint had the driver for it. Try booting from your floppy again and running fdisk, to see if it wioll detect any divices.
