Comment: Here is the situation: I work at a computer institute. We have 3 MCSE classes. The problem is one MCSE class does fdisk and wipes out the hard drive and the other 2 classes are basically screwed over. I want to install a total of 3 hard drives in the computers. I will make each hard drive dedicated to one class. I then want to have a menu which pops up. Class 1 Class 2 Class 3 I have messed around with a batch file to do so but i am running into problems. I have tried to put everything in one boot.ini file pointing to other drives... but boot.ini only allows up to like 12 enteries to choose from. I need to know if there is a program out there which will let me choose from the hard disk i want to boot from. Please email me your suggestions.

Reply: (edit)well your idea was good but what if u assigned me to class 1 then i go to class 3 option? what i would suggest, if possible, each user has login, corresponding passwords and rights -- put only rights to where they belong. ex. class1 should be on harddrive 1 and no write access on other harddrive. i havent tried this one yet. hope this will work. Pls. feedback!

Reply: (edit)Two simpler solutions: 1) Simply install NT three times, once on each drive. Edit your boot.ini file to give custom names to the menu options. 2) More expensive but more secure, buy hard drive drawer kits. This is a frame that mounts in the PC with a removable drawer that holds your disk drive. We use them at my training center and at $30 ea they were a great investment. It also makes replacing a bad drive a two minute operation (great idea for a classroom).
