Booting with the CD requires the bios be set to allow CD boot (first).

If no bios option to allow CD boot then use the 3 NT floppies (+ CD); run NT repair routine. Allow it to inspect/repair system files.

may be of some help re' the various repair approaches/options?

You need to determine where the problem lies: is it the monitor itself, or is it the computer.

Does the computer actuallly boot up - make the usual noises etc. and then settle down as normal (even though you can't see anything on the monitor)?

If so, then a few things to try that do not involve going inside the computer or the operating system etc. itself.

If the computer boots OK but there is no display on the monitor, check the cable between the monitor and the computer is OK; also that the cable is securely plugged/connected into the graphics card outlet on the computer.

Try another monitor on "your" computer.

Try "your" monitor on another computer.

If you are happy (comfortable) going inside the computer itself, then do so and check that the graphics card is properly installed/inserted into its slot.
