Blue Screen of Death

Windows NT Error: Has anyone gotten the "BSOD" (blue screen of death) error? Sometimes, upon booting up an NT computer, a blue screen appears with the first two lines reading: Stop X0000001E (OXC000005, OXFD839LCC, OX000000, OX028D0001) KMode_Exception_not handled. FD839FCC has base at FD823000 - TSIRCHND.DLL This is followed by many lines of numbers and jibberish, then ends in "please contact your system administrator". This does not happen upon every reboot and appears to happen mostly upon booting after an improper shutdown. Any help would be appreciated. Michelle

Hello Michelle,
Generally, the occurrence of blue screen while booting or working with Windows NT is an indication of serious damage to the Operating System. It is very hard to recover from such a situation. You will need to re-install WindowsNT without formatting the hard disk. To do the same: While re-installing Windows NT, you will be prompted with: "overwrite the existing files? y/n", type "y". This will over write the existing damaged files and make the installation normal. After re installing, NT should boot normally.
Hope this helps you. Regards, Sherlock. holmes@qsupport.com
