I upgraded a bdc to become the pdc so that I could reinstall NT on the original pdc that needed some cleaning up. After re-installation of NT on the original pdc, now a bdc, it's visible from other servers and clients, but it can't see windows 2000 pro clients & can't be pinged or ping inside the dhcp scope. Also, this server is the dhcp server & I've installed dhcp with a scope of 192.168.10.50-192.168.10.200 & subnet of 255.255.255.0 & installed WINS as well.

There are 3 servers total on the network. The new pdc has a static IP of 192.168.10.4, the new bdc (originally the old pdc) has a static IP of 192.168.10.3 and the other bdc has a static IP of 192.168.10.5- there all have the same subnet of 255.255.255.0

Any idea why this isn't working? The scope is the original scope that is/was used on the network. When new clients logon they don't recieve IPs because the dhcp server isn't realy available. The can however, logon with static IPs inside the 192.168.10.1-192.168.10.254 range.

This is kind of urgent....if anyone has any ideas it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

What kind of protocols are you running?
You may want to double check the bindings of the new BDC just to be sure!

Just from your discription that's the first place I'd start.

Sorry it's not much.
Good luck,
