BAD AVI CLASS error

When i try to render some 3D scenes, in any AVI compression format, a message tells:

"BAD AVI CLASS"
and I can't save animations.
The problem started since i installed WIN media player(6.4) for WIN NT4 .
I have uninstalled it but the problem does persist.
Please help me!!!!
(I've got a Win NT4 with service pack 5)

I had the same problem for the past few days and tried looking online for similiar problems along with searching through FAQ for windows media player and found nothing. Finally someone from a message board pointed out their an badavi fix available at discreets website at: (helped fix the problem)
